The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has made a change to the effective date for the Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP). These MDPP services will be available for eligible members beginning April 1, 2018.

What is the MDPP program?
The MDPP program is designed to help prevent the progression to type 2 diabetes for people with an indication of pre-diabetes. The program provides training in long-term dietary change, increased physical activity, and problem-solving strategies for overcoming challenges to sustaining weight loss and a healthy lifestyle.
